August 9, 1977 Pitkin County Environmental Health Dept. 506 East Main Street Aspen, Colorado 81611 Attention: Mr. Bob Nelson Re: Paul Rubin Residence, E/T System Inspection Lot 6, Capitol Woods Subdivision Our File No. 77137 Dear Bob: On August 5, 1977, I inspected the above referenced system and found same to be in substantial conformance to our plans and standard E/T system construction practice. The system was com- plete to the point that the sand layer over the distribution lines and some topsoil were in place. I assume you will make the final inspection of topsoil, seeding and air vent lids. For the record, I note that the "As -Built" bed dimensions were approximately 40' x 45' (1800 S.F.) rather than the proposed 55' x 31' (1705 S.F.) but the required bed area was more than adequate. Just a general note regarding the P.V.C. tee inlets and outlets. I share your concern regarding possible damage. If not from sur- face loads there is a good chance that the C.I.P. settlement could cause the tee bell to split, crack, or break in time. I believe I would require either C.I.P. tees or more support for the P.V.C. tees. On this particular system I would caution the builder/owner to be sure there is adequate supporting backfill under that inlet tee. ;Very truly urs, H.L.
