Bob Nelson and I visited the Anslyn lot in Little Elk
Creek Village. Bob had run the perc test, and found the bottom
of the soil profile test hole to have two to three inches of water.
It was 10 feet deep. Today, we found 1 1/2 to 2 feet of water.
I asked the owner not to close up the hole, to see whether or
not the ground water table will rise further. It may require
an engineered system with an aeriated treatment plant.

I went to make a final inspection on the Anslyn system,
but did not approve it. I think they are about 10' short on their
basic design, although Cecil disagrees. I paced it off as 17' by 471,
but I designed it originally to be 16' by 57'.

I visited the Anslyn property with Cecil. The field was
undersized, but Jim Ruggles claimed that by breaking through to a sandy
layer, the field would be oversized, had he followed our original specifications.
I ran a pert test at the bottom of the field. The rate was not much
different in 2 013 holes, and the 3rd hole drained so fast that I
couldn't measure it. I decided after evaluating the situation that they
should add the extra 10 feet onto the end of the leach field. Cecil
agreed to do this, and said he'd give us a call when he is done. I
recommended that they fill the space between effluent lines, which right
now is rather void of any gravel. The gravel was mounded around the
lines, but there is a section in between where 4" of gravel fill is
needed. Ruggles had the idea of placing boulders in between, figuring
that would give him a level area to work on. I felt this was a bad
idea because it would cut down tremendously on the volume of water the
bed could hold.

They enlarged the field to 57'. I still have some complaints
concerning the gravel fill between the lines. They got another truck
load, but along the sidewalls toward the end of the bed, there's a
tremendous gap. I will talk to Jim Ruggles ggain about this problem.
