[—]Not in use at the time of the inspection.* *If the OWTS was not in use at the time of the inspection, it is recommended that the system be re-evaluated when it is in use for a more accurate evaluation of the system. System Records: Permit #: 10005 Date of Issuance: 3/22/10 Date of Final Approval: 11/29/10 # of Bedrooms or fixtures served by OWTS: This system is designed for 4 bedrooms. Operational Status: The system was working properly at the time of inspection. Both tanks were in good working order with inlet and outlet tees in place. An effluent filter was in place at the outlet of the second tank. Although observation ports were not present to check for the presence of effluent in the chambers, there were no signs of failure or surfacing effluent in the absorption area. Inspector Recommendations: Inspector recommends pumping the first tank, annually cleaning the effluent filter, and minimize irrigation of the absorption field area. The permit and record drawing was provided by Pitkin County Environmental Health Department (Parcel ID # 2649-101-00-021). The subject OWTS consists of one 1000 -gallon, two-compartment concrete septic tank followed by a 750 -gallon concrete septic tank. The absorption area consists of four gravelless chamber trenches, each with 8 `Standard' Infiltrator® chambers for a total of approximately 496 square feet of infiltrative area. Both septic tanks appeared to be in good condition with all inlet and outlet tees present. An effluent filter was installed on the outlet of the 2nd septic tank. This filter was cleaned as part of the inspection. Accumulation of sludge and scum in the 1St tank warrant pumping. The second tank does not need to be pumped at this time. The absorption area showed no signs of saturation, and had no indication of failure. Observation ports were not present. The absorption area is located under a lawn area that is regularly irrigated. This evaluation is not a guarantee of future system performance. This inspection is good for one year. Recommendations: • Pump first septic tank in series. • Clean effluent filter annually. • Minimize irrigation over absorption area. This report should be submitted to the Pitkin County Environmental Health Department. The following links are the required application and application checklist.
