The system had previously been covered without final approval. Upon arriving, I found approximately 8" of caste iron line had been exposed and time clocks were not yet wired to aerate the tank. eou'tj A -k-. o LETTER TO FOLLOW: ( ) OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS: DATE: 8/29 , 19__L4 ES: 7 (8-53-50) REPRESENTATIVE: Section FILE REFERENCE. The dry well looks to be in good shape, about 12' deep and 12' in diameter. However, Mr. McNew, the owner, indicated that the water and sewer lines were buried in the same trench. That is not proper. Also the way they have the system laid out, the effluent line from the tank to the dry well will have to cross over the water line. I indicated to Mr. McNew that the sewer line over the top of the water --line would have to be of cast iron. Any joint within 9' of either side of the water line would have to be encased in concrete.I & V_*:tNM W''0r (, • ij , \, t • LETTER TO FOLLOW: ( ) OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS: DATE: July 23 , 19 73 . The air line has been repaired. Now they're going to move the compressors into the manhole just above the treatment plant. The caste iron joints have been concreted over the water line. The sewage disposal system was never given a final approval. It consists of a Colorado West aeriated treatment system which has never been electrically connected. The effluent line is running over the top of the public water line. I informed. Jim Santa Cruz of this problem through Mr. McNough the day I arrived for the final inspection (about a year ago). I told him it would have to run through caste iron across the top of the water line to 10 feet on either side. I an told that rather than doing that, they dug a trench 6 feet deep and ran the sewer line out to the edge of that trench, then down into the trench in a "U" shape, and back up on the other side of the water line. I'm told the sewer line is only about 2 feet from the surface, and with that drop, I'm sure it will freeze up. This property should be considered non marketable until such time as the sewage disposal system has been given final approval.
