This department must also be called for an inspection with a minimum of 48 hours advanced notice. If approval takes longer than 6 hours, a rate of $65 per hour will be charged. The maximum fee is $1000. The basic fee of $330 is due at the time of application. The system as observed by Gamba & Associates, Inc., was found to be in substantial conformance to the plans and specifications as submitted to Pitkin County Environmental Health, except for the following: 1. In review of the percolation tests performed it has been determined that the average percolation rate is 47 min/in. Applying this percolation rate to the area calculation for the leach pit, the area has been reduced to 18 feet by_ 19 feet and 10 feet deep. The total calculated leaching area is 1,082 sf. If required by the Carbondale Fire Protection District, the Applicant shall install and maintain a water storage tank, the size and location to be approved by the District with an approved and accessible fire district connection, for fire -fighting purposes. 7. Prior to issuance of a septic permit, the Applicant shall provide documentation of an adequate domestic water supply. Quantity and quality of said supply shall meet the approval of the Environmental Health Department. 8. The septic system designed for the site shall meet the approval of the Environmental Health Department. The Applicant shall obtain such approval, prior to the issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy for the residence. 9. The Applicant shall obtain a fireplace/woodstove permit from Environmental Health Department, prior to the issuance of a building permit. 10. The disturbed areas within the building site shall be revegetated with native grasses to limit water consumption and additional runoff, immediately following project completion. 11. All development included grading, septic system, well, and landscaping shall occur within the building envelope, except for any grading necessary to improve the access driveway. 12. The Applicant shall submit a drainage and erosion control plan to the County Engineer for approval, prior to the issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy for the residence. 13. The Applicant shall adhere to the following standards for development on slopes: a. Adequate mechanical support shall be provided for cut slopes. b. Adding water which may decrease slope stability shall be avoided. C. Adding weight to the top of the slope shall be avoided. d. Disturbed slopes must be contoured so that they can be revegetated. e. Steepening of existing slopes shall be avoided. f. Confine cuts, fills, grading and excavation to the minimum area needed for construction. 14.
