Operational Status: According to the inspector observations that system was working properly at the time of
inspection. The 1000 gallon, 2 compartment tank and 1000 gallon pump tank were watertight and in good condition.
The pump was working as well as the alarm. The field area did not show any signs of failure or surfacing effluent and no
liquid was present in the observation ports.

As requested, CBO Inc. performed an Onsite Wastewater Treatment System (OWTS) Use
Permit inspection at 100 Bear Creek Lane, Redstone, CO.
The subject OWTS consists of a 1000 -gallon two-compartment septic tank followed by a
1000 -gallon single -compartment septic tank with a pump. Effluent is pumped to a
gravelless chamber bed with 5 rows of 6 Standard Infiltrator units (465 square feet). The
as -built drawing was provided by Pitkin County Environmental Health Department. (Parcel
ID # 2729-292-01-092)
The septic tanks appeared to be in good condition with all tees in place. The pump was
operational and the alarm was audible. The alarm alert is located in the lower level of the
house. The absorption area showed no signs of saturation and had no indication of failure.
Observation ports were present. This evaluation is not a guarantee of future system
performance. This inspection is good for one year.
This report should be submitted to the Pitkin County Environmental Health Department.

Comments
Septic permit approved per compliance with the engineer design and specifications dated August 7, 2003. This
design replaces permit #03011. Any changes must be approved by this department and the design engineer prior
to them being made.
Minimum horizontal distances between components of the system and physical features shall conform to the Pitkin
County ISDS regulations. There must be a minimum 25 -foot separation between the dry gulch and the field. Water
lines must be at least 10 feet from any tanks. Dry gulch that runs under driveway must be culverted at least 10 feet
from any tank or sewer line.
This system will consist of one 1000 gallon, two-compartment tank followed by a 1000 gallon dosing tank. There
should be a cleanout at any directional change between the house and the first tank. A level manifold will distribute
to 5 rows of 6 graveliess chamber units. There will be a total of 30 units in a bed configuration. The engineer has
specified a maximum cover of 36" for the field.
This department does not endorse any brand of products. This permit must be kept onsite during installation.
The engineer must do a final inspection of the installation and submit an as -built letter to this department. This
department must also be called for an inspection with a minimum of 48 hours advanced notice.

Plans and specifications of the proposed individual sewage disposal system have been reviewed and are considered
satisfactory. Permission is hereby granted to the owner or the agent to perform the work indicated in accordance with the Pitkin
County ISDS Regulation in effect at the time of issue. This permit becomes invalid 6 months from the date that the permit was
issued unless system construction has commenced or an extension has been approved in writing by the Department.
As -built drawings must be included with this permit before the final approval will be issued.
