The current septic system is sized for a two bedroom house and plants call for enlarging the -house to either a three or four bedroom house. Pitkin County will hear and adopt new sewage disposal regulations on March 29th. The calculations. for additional leach field size are based on the proposed regulations. If the Board of County Commissioners changes the regulations before adopting thein, these calculations may not be correct. They are offered here as proposed dalculations. The specific site conditions must be reviewed .to determine the best solution to the additional leach field. The simplest method, if conditions exist, is to lengthen the existing deep gravel trenches to provide the additional square footage. By using the reductions given for 3 feet of deep gravel, a total of 80 lineal feet is required to be added. The enclosed amended as -built drawing of the existing systems shows possible locations of the additional deep gravel trenches.
