As you will note, the preliminary results indicate that the percolation rates are around the 5 min/in range. From our field observations, it appears that there was 12" to 18" of topsoil overlaying a silty, sandy material which extended to depths greater than four feet. No profile hole was found immediate to the percolation holes; however, approximately 70 feet away, the foundation excavation observed in the field identified the lower soils to be consistent with those observed in the perc holes. You will need to f6rward these results of the perc test for review by Bob Nelson of the Pitkin County Environmental Health Department. At that time, he will decide whether or not the system needs to be engineered. If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to call.
