PAYMENT OF PITKIN COUNTY USE TAX
The General Contractor or Owner Builder is required to pay a Use Tax Deposit to Pitkin County (.5%) on the building permit valuation at time of issuance. All sub -permits
pulled under a building permit are paid by this deposit payment and should not pay Use Tax. Stand alone sub -permits are required to pay a Use Tax Deposit to Pitkin County
(.5%) Deposit .5% of 50% of project valuation.
Project Valuation (includes labor $ 2,227 Exempt: Exempt Organization Exempt ID #
Property liens may be placed on the owner's and/or the contractor's property when Use Tax is not paid.

Plumbing/Mechanical Permit is being issued on the condition that all items requested are on the approved plans. Any deviation shall require a
change order/or removal at the applicant's expense. ALL PLUMBING & MECHANICAL PERMITS ARE REQUIRED TO BE ON THE JOB SITE. If the
equipment is being installed on an historic property or within an historic district, you must submit plans and/or elevations indicating the location of
the equipment, as well as the exact dimensions of the unit being installed.
