The Provision of Commercial Apron Pavement Rehabilitation, Phase 2 (the “Contract”) dated
March 21, 2019 between the Board of County Commissioners of Pitkin County, Colorado (the
“County”) and Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. (the “Contractor”), is hereby amended as
follows:
Description of Change: Additional Design Effort and Direct Expenses with details below.
· General Aviation Parking Lot Design – This area was not included in the original -project
area and is currently unpaved. The work added includes installation of asphalt pavement
section, drainage improvements, and installation of a concrete dumpster pad in the GA
Parking area.
· Rehabilitation of the Baggage Make-up paved area – This area was not included in the
original project area. The work added includes pavement surface rehabilitation and
drainage improvements in the baggage make-up and baggage drop off areas located at the
North and South end of the terminal, just to the East of the Commercial Apron area.
· Commercial Apron Pavement Marking Adjustments – These were airline/tenant
requested changes after airline ground crews damaged an aircraft door. Our effort
included review of airline marking standards, and field verification operations to adjust
and revise current apron markings for each gate position as well as verification of
swinging boarding bridge locations.
Reason for Change: The above additions to the project scope added survey effort and the
surveyor we had to use, to complete the work on the schedule required, would not
agree to performing the survey as originally planned with a blend of KH and surveyor
staff doing the field work.
