RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS ("BOCC") OF PITKIN COUNTY,
COLORADO APPROVING A GRANT AGREEMENT
WITH THE COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC
HEALTH & ENVIRONMENT FOR ADDITIONAL
FUNDING TO SUPPORT LOCAL PUBLIC HEALTH
CORE SERVICES
RESOLUTION NO. 004-2022
RECITALS
WHEREAS, Pursuant to Section 2.8.3 (Actions) of the Pitkin County Home Rule Charter
("HRC") official action by formal resolution shall be required for all actions of the Board
not requiring ordinance power on matters of significant importance affecting citizens, and;
WHEREAS, the Colorado Depaitiiient of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), Office
of Public Health Practice, Planning and Local Partnerships ("OPHP")has allocated grant
funds to support Local Public Health Agencies in assuring core public health services
through during the first Federal American Rescue Plan Act(ARPA) funding cycle that ends
on June 30, 2022, and;
WHEREAS, the ARPA is a federal grant that is distributed and managed by OPHP of
CDPHE that is subject to federal funding guidelines, rules and regulations that runs on a
state funding cycle from July 1 to June 30, and;
WHEREAS, CDPHE has awarded Pitkin County a grant in the amount of$60,531.00 to
support the Local Public Health Agency (LPHA) with core public health services during the
current ARPA funding cycle, and;
WHEREAS, The BOCC finds that it is in the best interests of the citizens of Pitkin County
to adopt a Resolution approving a grant for$60,531 to support the Public Health Agency
and;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Pitkin County, Colorado that it hereby adopts a Resolution approving a Grant Agreement
with the Colorado Department of Public Health&Environment to Support Core Public
Health Services and authorizes the Chair to sign the Resolution and upon the satisfaction of
the County Attorney as to form, execute any other associated documents necessary to
complete this matter.
