INTERIM PITKIN COUNTY CLERK& RECORDER TO SERVE THE
REMAINDER OF THE TERM OF JANICE VOS CAUDILL
RESOLUTION NO. 023-2022
RECITALS
WHEREAS, Pursuant to Section 2.8.4 (Actions) of the Pitkin County Home Rule Charter
("HRC"), all matters not required to be acted upon by ordinance or formal resolution may
be acted upon by informal resolution; and
WHEREAS, Janice Vos Caudill has submitted her resignation of the position of Pitkin
County Clerk and Recorder effective April 1, 2022; and
WHEREAS, Section 5.52 of the HRC states any vacancy in the office of Clerk and
Recorder shall be filled by appointment of an eligible person by majority vote of the Board
of County Commissioners, and any person so appointed shall serve the remainder of his or
her predecessor's term; and
WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners held interviews of three candidates on
March 8, 2022, and
WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners met on March 15, 2022 to further
discuss the appointment; and
WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners by a majority vote has selected Ingrid
Grueter as the interim Clerk and Recorder with full powers of the office, to serve the
remainder of the term of Ms. Caudill; and
WHEREAS, The BOCC finds that it is in the best interests of the citizens of Pitkin County
to approve this Resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Pitkin County, Colorado that it hereby adopts a Resolution Appointing Ingrid Grueter as the
Interim Clerk& Recorder to Serve the Remainder of the Term of Janice Vos Caudill and
authorizes the Chair to sign the Resolution and upon the satisfaction of the County Attorney
as to form, execute any other associated documents necessary to complete this matter.
