OF PITKIN COUNTY, COLORADO AUTHORIZING THE CHAIRMAN TO SIGN
A PETITION OF ANNEXATION OF THE RIGHT OF WAY OF MAROON CREEK
ROAD TO THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO
Resolution # 2003-
RECITALS
1. The City of Aspen has annexed a number of properties adjacent to Maroon Creek Road over
the past several years.
2. The City and the County have held a number of meetings to discuss the possibility of having
the City annex portions of the Maroon Creek Road into the City of Aspen.
3. The City of Aspen has recently annexed the lower portion of Maroon Creek Road from State
Highway 82 to the upper end of the Iselin Park property.
4. The City and County discussed the filing of an annexation petition provided that the County
provided information relating to the condition of the pavement, walls and other infrastructure
in or affecting the roadway.
5. The county has compiled all of the information required and will provide said documents to
the City for their review,
NOW, THERE FORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners, of Pitkin
County, Colorado that it hereby authorizes the Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners
to sign the Annexation Petition and transmittal letter for the City of Aspen's consideration of the
Annexation of the portion of Maroon Creek Road between Iselin Park and the upper access drive
to the Highlands base area development.

PETITION FOR ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF ASPEN
Maroon Creek Road
From City Limits at Upper End of
Iselin Park to a Point
One Hundred Feet (100') beyond
The Upper Highlands Base Area Drive
The undersigned Petitioner, being the land owner within the exterior boundary of the
territory hereinafter described, respectfully request the City Council of the City of Aspen to
approve the annexation of the proposed area to be annexed in accordance with the provisions of
C.R.S. 1973 31-8-101, et. Seq., as may have been amended, and in support thereof alleges as
follows:
1. It is necessary and desirable that the territory described in the land description below
(Exhibit 1) be annexed to the City of Aspen
2. The requirements of C.R.S. 1973 31-104 and 31-8-105 exist or have been met.
3. The petitioner is the owner of the territory sought to be annexed and therefore is the
owner of more than 50% of the territory sought to be annexed. Pitkin county is owner oflO0% of
the territory being annexed.
