HomeMy WebLinkAboutbocc.res.030.2023RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS (“BOCC”) OF PITKIN COUNTY, COLORADO APPROVING, THE CARING FOR COMMUNITY FUND GRANT RESOLUTION NO. 030-2023 RECITALS WHEREAS, Pursuant to Section 2.8.3 (Actions) of the Pitkin County Home Rule Charter (“HRC”) official action by formal resolution shall be required for all actions of the Board not requiring ordinance power on matters of significant importance affecting citizens, and; WHEREAS, Pitkin County Human Services believes it is in the best interest of the residents of Pitkin County to support mental health services and reduce the stress of families and individuals living in poverty, and; WHEREAS, by accepting these grant funds, Pitkin County Human Services will provide crisis case management services. WHEREAS, The BOCC finds that it is in the best interests of the citizens of Pitkin County to approve this Resolution. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Pitkin County, Colorado that it hereby adopts a Resolution of Board of County Commissioners authorizing the Pitkin County Department of Human Services to accept grant funds in the amount of $5,250 from the Caring for Community Fund, and authorizes the Chair to sign the Resolution and upon the satisfaction of the County Attorney as to form, execute any other associated documents necessary to complete this matter. No changes or modifications may be made without the Fund’s knowledge and approval. If funds are not expended or committed for the purposes of the grant within the stated period of time, or within a time period deemed acceptable by the board of directors, grantee will return said funds to the Fund. The Grantee shall furnish to the Fund a full and complete report describing the manner in which the grant funds were spent and the progress that was made in accomplishing the purposes of the grant. Reports on grants are due within two months after completion of the project or by September 1, 2023. Subsequent applications for organizations that fail to submit the required reports will not be eligible for consideration. The Fund may, at its expense, monitor and conduct an evaluation of operations funded by this grant, which may include visits by Fund representatives to observe the Grantee’s program procedures and operations and to discuss the program with the Grantee’s personnel. The total amount of this grant, or any portion thereof, may be discontinued, modified, or withheld at any time when, in the judgment of the Fund, the conditions of the grant as outlined in the grant award letter and agreed upon in this agreement are not being met. If the grantee has tax-exempt status, the grantee must notify the Fund immediately of any changes that occur in its tax-exempt status. If tax-exempt status changes, funds may have to be returned to the Caring for Community Fund. This grant has been approved by the Board of Directors of the Aspen Skiing Company’s Caring for Community Fund and is accepted by the Grantee with the understanding that the Fund is not obligated to provide any additional support. This grant will be revoked if a countersigned copy of this letter is not returned within 1 month of its receipt. If circumstances exist that justify a delay of more than 1 month the grantee must contact the Fund as soon as possible. The Grantee acknowledges that it has received and retained a copy of this Agreement. The undersigned hereby certifies that he or she is duly authorized to accept this grant on behalf of the Grantee and to commit the Grantee to all of its terms and conditions.
