RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS (“BOCC”) OF PITKIN COUNTY, COLORADO APPROVING, AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH GARFIELD COUNTY FOR A FIFTH AMENDMENT TO THE COLORADO AND COMMUNITY SERVICES BLOCK GRANT (CSBG)
RESOLUTION NO. 024-2023
RECITALS
WHEREAS, Pursuant to Section 2.8.3 (Actions) of the Pitkin County Home Rule Charter (“HRC”) official action by formal resolution shall be required for all actions of the Board not requiring ordinance power on matters of significant importance affecting citizens, and;
WHEREAS, the parties entered into an Intergovernmental Agreement (“IGA’) approved by Garfield County on March 15, 2021, and approved by Pitkin County on or about April 5, 2021. The IGA is contingent on the funding through the Colorado Department of Local Affairs through the Community Block Grant (“CSBG”) Program; and
WHEREAS, since the approval of the IGA that made certain the funding allocation to Pitkin County, Garfield County is in receipt of the Option Letter #5 for Project No. CSBG-21-029-CSBG17-Garfield County 2021-2024, CMS #180280 through September 30, 2024, a copy of Option Letter #5 is attached to the Agenda Item Summary as
well as Option Letter #4, Option Letter #3, Option Letter #2 and Option Letter #1.
WHEREAS, Option Letter #5 provides additional funding for Garfield and Pitkin Counties of which a specified amount is to be allocated to Pitkin County; and
WHEREAS, The BOCC finds that it is in the best interests of the citizens of Pitkin County
to approve this Resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Pitkin County, Colorado that it hereby adopts a Resolution of the Board of County
Commissioners of Pitkin County, Colorado Approving an Intergovernmental Agreement
with Garfield County for a Fifth Amendment to the Colorado and Community Services Block Grant, and authorizes the Chair to sign the Resolution and upon the satisfaction of the County Attorney as to form, execute any other associated documents necessary to complete this matter.
