Land Use COde Re-Write Discussion

DESCRIPTION OF ISSUE: Special Meeting regarding update of the Pitkin County
Comprehensive overview plan and neighborhood plans; outline of expectations for the
' Land Use Code Re-Write.
The purpose of this meeting is as follows:
review of the adopted neighborhood Master Plans including: 1. Owl
2. Brash
3. East of Aspen/Independence
4. Crystal
5. Capitol/Snowmass
6. Maroon/Castle
Included in the review is the Overview of the Pitkin County Comprehensive Plan that
will be reviewed by the Planning Commission the evening of November 18th, 2003.
This document pulls together all the plans within Pitkin County including the Down
Valley Comprehensive Plan, the Redstone Master Plan and the AACP.
A discussion with the BOCC regarding expectations for the consultant contract to
re-write the Land Use Code (timeframe, BOCC participation level, specific topic
areas).
The BOCC also requested that we discuss a countywide concept for affordable Housing
as it relates to specific use of impact fees.
