HomeMy WebLinkAbout05 May hrs minutes 2020Minutes – Healthy Rivers and Streams Citizens Advisory Board May 21, 2020 Page 1 HEALTHY RIVERS AND STREAMS CITIZENS ADVISORY BOARD Meeting Minutes Via Zoom Virtual Meeting May 21, 2020 – 4:00 p.m. River Board members present: Bill Jochems, Lisa Tasker, Chris Lemons, Chris Wheatley, Andre Wille, Chuck Ogilby, Wendy Huber River Board members absent: Others present: Lisa MacDonald, John Ely, Laura Makar __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Board Comment - None Public Comment – None Additions/Deletions to Agenda – None Approval of the Minutes February, April 16 and April 21, 2020 Ms. Tasker moved to approve the minutes of February 20, 2020 with the corrections as noted. Mr. Jochems seconded the motion. The motion passed 7/0. Ms. Huber moved to approve the minutes of April 16, 2020. Ms. Tasker seconded the motion. The motion passed 7/0. Ms. Huber moved to approve the minutes of April 21, 2020. Mr. Wheatley seconded the motion. The motion passed 7/0. Fund Outlook discussion due to COVID-19 - Connie Baker, Budget Director Ms. Baker provided the board a snapshot of the budget outlook due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The information will help the Board determine 2021 projects and budget. Communications Plan - Matt Annabel, Diane Schwener, Tim Braun The communications team brought the plan to the Board. The team went through the goals and objectives of the plan, the approach, board recognition and the cost summary. The strategy and campaigns will be dependent upon the effects and restrictions from COVID-19. Plans include speaker series, films, and paddling with a purpose. The team will work with staff on next steps. Youth Water Summit 2020 – Sarah Johnson Wild Rose Education Additional Funding Ms. Johnson provided an update and progress report on the 2021 Youth Water Summit. Because of the Covid outbreak, funding sources have diminished. Ms. Johnson sought additional funds of $10,000 for the Youth Water Summit. Ms. Tasker moved to recommend additional funding for $10,000 for the youth water summit 2020. Mr. Wheatley seconded the motion. The motion passed 7/0. Executive Session Chairman Wille moved to enter into Executive Session CRS 24-6-402(4)(b) for the purposes of Crystal River Augmentation. Mr. Jochems seconded the motion. The motion passed 7/0. Ms. Huber left the meeting at approximately 6:45 pm Chairman Wille moved to adjourn the meeting. Mr. Wheatley seconded the meeting. The motion passed 6/0.
