HEALTHY RIVERS AND STREAMS CITIZENS ADVISORY BOARD Regular Meeting Aug 19, 2021 Redstone Inn Redstone, CO River Board members present: Bill Jochems, Chris Wheatley, Lisa Tasker, Chris Lemons, Chuck Ogilby, Andre Wille
River Board members absent: Wendy Huber Attendees in addition to presenters: Lisa MacDonald, John Ely, Matt Annabel, Heather Sackett ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Additions/Deletions to the Agenda – None Public and Board comments along with the approval of the minutes for June were moved to the end of the agenda.
Roaring Fork Conservancy Education Center Grant Update Megan Dean Ms. Dean provided the Board with an update on the Education Center as per grant deliverables contained in the 2020 grant application. Colorado Healthy Rivers Fund – Casey Davenhill Ms. Davenhill presented the Co Healthy Rivers Fund. The fund provides support to local restoration projects through a voluntary tax check off on Colorado State tax forms.
Mr. Jochems left the meeting at approximately 5:40 pm.
Board Comment – Mr. Wheatley accepted the Proclamation announcing July as RICD month in Pitkin County from the Commissioners at the July 14th BOCC meeting. Mr. Obilby noted the Weaver Ditch project as an example to others on how to build a really efficient system. Asked how we to the ranching community, get a showcase rancher and work with them. Mr. Wille inquired about the Twin Lakes bypass work. Mr. Ely noted the team will be in Aspen performing monitoring work. The Board is welcome to join them. Staff will look into adjusting the September board meeting date so Mr. Miller, Mr. Espegren and Ms. Wynne can attend and give the Board an update on the work.
Public Comment – None Approval of Minutes June 17, 2021 Mr. Obilby moved to approve the minutes of June 17, 202. Ms. Tasker seconded the motion. The motion passed 5/0. Mr. Wheatley moved to adjourn the meeting. Ms. Tasker seconded the motion. The motion passed 5/0.
