HEALTHY RIVERS AND STREAMS CITIZENS ADVISORY BOARD
Meeting Minutes
October 18, 2018 4:00 p.m.

River Board members present: Bill Jochems, Elle Taylor, Kate Hudson, Lisa Tasker. Andre Wille
River Board members absent: Ken Neubecker

Youth Water Summit Update - S arah Johnson
Ms. Johnson updated the Board on the upcoming Youth Water Summit and encouraged everyone to register for the
event Nov 15th, 2018. There are 12 middle and high schools participating, screening of Lens on Climate Change
student films, Keynote Speaker and an Opportunity Expo among other things. The agenda is ever changing.

Staff updated the Board on numerous items:
Lisa Tasker presented the River Program at the Colorado Watershed Assembly Conference in Avon. As sponsors, our
logo and name were prominently place throughout the conference.
Christa Sadler Event Nov 14th Aspen, Nov 15th Carbondale Dinner with Christa to follow event with river board as
host. River Board will also introduce Ms. Sadler at both events.
The BOCC granted all the Fall 2018 recommended for funding by the River Board on October 16, 2018
Move the Nov 15th Board meeting to November 8th due to the Youth Water Summit.
Request by CRD to attend Board meeting regarding Cloud Seeding. They will attend the Nov 8th meeting.
The fund provided snacks at the Roaring Fork Collaborative Water Forum with Candidates
Successful Redstone Crystal River Riparian Restoration Workshop
Grant application for the Robinson Ditch in front of the Basin Roundtable and if recommend moves to the CWCB in
January.
Work continuing on the GOCO grant for streamside amenities at the Whitewater Park
2019 Budget will be in front the BOCC on Oct 23rd.
Staff will work on dates for a joint Open Space and River Board meeting in January.
Ms. Tasker asked to have Water Commissioner Jake DeWolfe attend the January meeting to discuss the Crystal River
flows.
