Meeting Minutes
October 19, 2017
Basalt Library - Basalt, CO 81621 – 4:00 p.m.
River Board members present: Bill Jochems, Lisa Tasker, Elle Taylor, Andre Wille, Dave Nixa, Kate Hudson

Board Comment – Chair Tasker updated the Board on the Watershed Assembly conference she attended
Public Comment – None
Additions/Deletions to Agenda – The Upper Roaring Fork and Roaring Fork Conservancy updates were deleted
from the agenda per Chair Tasker. Presenters were unable to attend.
Approval of the minutes of July 20, and September 21, 2017
Chair Tasker moved to approve the minutes of July 20, 2017 and September 21, 2017. Mr. Nixa seconded the motion.
The motion passed 6/0.
Carbondale to Crested Butte Trail Gary Tennenbaum, Pitkin Co Open Space Director –
Mr. Tennenbaum discussed with the Board its September 28, 2017 letter to him and the Board’s comments on a
number of issues outlined in the letter.
The Board will submit questions on the reports generated for the Carbondale to Crested Butte Trail. Mr. Tennenbaum
will confer with consultants to set up a meeting with the Board and discuss dates with staff to determine the best
possible timeframe for the meeting to occur.
John Emerick – Crystal Water Study
Mr. Emerick presented his Stream and Riparian Habitat Assessment of the Crystal River to the Board.
Youth Water Leadership Program - Sarah Johnson Wild Rose Education
Ms. Johnson updated the Board on the upcoming water leadership program and requested some funding for
refreshments for the attendees.
Chair Tasker moved to approve a budget up to $300.00 for refreshments for the youth summit on Oct 31, 2017.
Ms. Hudson seconded the motion. The motion passed 6/0.

2018 Budget Discussion
Chair Tasker moved to approve the 2018 drafted budget line items for the river fund. Mr. Wille seconded the motion.
The motion passed 6/0.
Open Discussion – Ms. Makar distributed information on Snowmass Creek requested at the September
meeting. The Board will review the information on discuss options at a future meeting.
Ms. Taylor moved to adjourn the meeting. Mr. Nixa seconded the motion. The motion passed 6/0.
Adjourn: The Board adjourned at approximately 7:00 p.m.
