HomeMy WebLinkAboutCEO Energy Code Grant Letter of Support_PitCo.signed.docxFebruary 25, 2025 Will Toor Executive Director The Colorado Energy Office 1600 Broadway, Suite 1960 Denver, CO, 80202 RE: Pitkin County supports the Community Office for Resource Efficiency (CORE) grant application to advance energy codes and collaboration across the Roaring Fork Valley. Dear Mr. Will Toor: I am writing to express my strong support for the Community Office for Resources Efficiency’s (CORE) partnership grant application for the CEO’s Energy Code Adoption and Enforcement Grant Program. If awarded, this funding will allow communities across our region to begin implementing the Regional Net Zero Roadmap, continue training our regional workforce to implement all electric, high efficiency, and net zero buildings, and develop important resources, such as cost studies, that support the adoption of future code updates. Pitkin County is committed to adopting advanced code requirements that exceed the state minimum exemplified by our adoption of the 2021 IECC in 2024 and current consideration of codes that minimize energy use and promote efficiency. Pitkin County supports the CORE’s grant application because it will support industry training that ultimately helps us achieve our climate action goals. Please give the CORE’s grant application the highest consideration. Thank you. Sincerely, Pitkin County Board of County Commissioners Kelly McNicholas Kury, Chair 530 E.
