(Attach additional sheets if necessary) 1. This entire property has been appraised as commercial, however, 53.3% of the total square footage is now a permanent residence. My contention is that the tax valuation should be based upon 53.3 % at a residential rate and 46.7% at a commercial rate. 1 agree with the actual property valuation but not the tax valuation. 53.3% should be valued at the 9.75% rate for residential and 46.7% should be valued at 29% for commercial. I think that the taxes should be calculated as follows: 340,000 x 53.3 % = 181,220 x 9.75 %= 17, 668.95 340,000 x 46.7% = 158,780 x 29.0 %= 46 046.20 63,715.15 x Total Assessed Value In summary, I contend that the tax valuation should be $ 63,715.15 rather than $ 98,600 based upon 53.5% of the square footage is used as a permanent residence. should reduce my tax bill from $ 6,918.76 to $ 4,470.89.
