THE PITK1N COUNTY SOLID WASTE CENTER

Recitals
Pitkin County, hereafter ~'Applicant", bas applied to the Pitkin County Board of County
Commissioners. "BOCC". for approval to rezone the Pitkin Connty Solid Waste Center (SWC ~
from Unclassified (U) to Public (PUB).
The Pitkin County Solid Waste Center is located approximatel5 8 miles west of Aspen. and is
specifically described as Exhibit A.
The Planning and Zoning Commission heard this rezoning application at their regularly
scheduled public meeting on December 9. 2003. at which time they recommended approval of
the requested zoning change and Master Plan.
The Board heard the rezoning request on reading at their regular y scheduled and duly noticed
public hearing on January 28. 2004. at which time evidence and testimony were presented with
respect to this application. 2nd reading was held on February 11, 2004.
]'he Board finds that this rezoning application is consistent with the Down Valley
Comprehensive Plan, Brush Creek Master Plan and the Pitkin County Land Use Code.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Pitkin County Board of County
Commissioners that it hereby rezones the Pitkin County Solid Waste Center, as described in Exhibit A,
and as shown in Exhibit B, from Unclassified (U) to Public (PUB).
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING PUBLISHED IN THE ASPEN TIMES on the 17th day of
January, 2004.
INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ at the regular meeting and public hearing on the 28th day
of January, 2004.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED AFTER SECOND READING on the 11th day of February,
2004.
