Contractor’s Obligations. A. Change Order Description This change order includes additional engineering to meet CDOT plans requirements for the Special Use Permit. This includes additional details, plans sheets (e.g. Stormwater Management Plans, traffic control plans, etc.) and a geotechnical investigation at the location of the proposed underpass. B. Work Plan Underpass Geotechnical Investigation RJ Engineering will perform two subsurface borings, one near each end of the proposed underpass, to characterize the subsurface soils and to determine top of bedrock depths. RJ Engineering will coordinate with CDOT and provide traffic control. SGM will field survey the actual boring locations to tie them to the project for accurate determination of bedrock depths relative to the proposed underpass. CDOT Special Use Permit This work includes the additional effort required to submit the special use permit applications to CDOT for the underpass and the parking lot. It is anticipated that there will additional coordination with CDOT and responses to CDOT comments. Construction Management This work includes providing construction management, onsite inspection and materials testing during the duration of the construction phase. This also includes a pre-construction Attachment A Pitkin County On-Call Engineering Services Master Service Agreement #: 051.2017 2 meeting, regular weekly meetings, submittal and RFI reviews and contract administration. GROUND Engineering will provide the materials testing. For fee estimating, we have assumed the construction duration will be 3 months (13 weeks). This is based on feedback from contractors familiar with the project. The estimated level of effort is assumed to be 20 hours per week for inspection plus another 10 hours per week for construction management, including meetings, reviews and contract administration. C. Deliverables • Geotechnical report • Additional plans sheets for CDOT (e.g. Engineering Geology, SWMP) • CDOT special use permit applications D. Schedule The field work will be completed in the summer and it is anticipated the CDOT Special Use Permit process will be completed in 2025. Construction management is anticipated to run through the 2026 construction season (approximately May-September). E. Exclusions and Limitations • none 2. Compensation and Expenses The estimated cost breakdown for the change order is summarized in the table below and further broken down in the attached fee estimate.
