Ratification of Hearing Officers Determinations

Description of Issue:
Attached please find copies of the Hearings Officer's determinations for hearings
held through the morning of July 30th.
Due to the high amount of petitions we had this year we have had to
schedule hearings through Monday, August 4th. Therefore, we will be
submitting additional hearing officer's determinations to you late in the
day on the 4th. We are sorry about any inconvenience this causes, but
· statute mandates that all hearings have to be completed and decisions
rendered by August 5th~
At the meeting held on July 15TM, the Board continued the petition filed by Bonnie
Eubanks to August 5th. Since that meeting Ms. Eubanks sent a letter requesting
that the Board ratifij the hearing officer's determination and that her hearing
scheduled for this meeting be cancelled. We have attached her letter for your
review.
At the meeting held on July 23rd, the Board continued the petition filed by
Bernard Young pending further clarification from the assessor's office as to why
the value was adjusted. Megan Szarek from the assessor's office will be present
to answer any questions you might have. Additionally, we have contacted Mr.
Young to advise him of this meeting.
For purposes of this meeting we have asked that a representative from the
assessors office and the individual hearings officers be present answer any
questions you might have on the attached hearing officer's determinations.
Staff Recommendation: Consider the recommendations and make a motion
accordingly.
