Description:
PURPOSE: To provide for the preservation and continued integrity of the historically designated
area within 1000 feet of the established boundary of the townsite of Redstone and of other designated
structures, sites and objectes and to prmote the educational, cultural, economic and general welfare of
the public by presering those qualities which relate to the hisory of Redstone, the State of Colorado,
and the nation.
AUTHORITY: Assisting County Planning reviewing an historic inventory o f structures, sites and
objects in the Redstone vicinity with respect to completeness and accuracy; drafting guidelines and
amendments thereto for alterations to existing structures and design of new construction in the
historically designated Redstone area and designated sites and structures; recommending and
preparing applications for designation of historically significant areas, structures or sites in the
Redstone area at the County, State or Federal level, including provision of support necessary to justify
designation; reviewing and making decisions on Special Review permit applications for erection,
removal, construction, reconstruction, remodeling or demolition of structures or sites designated as
historic and archaeological resource areas in the vicinity of Redstone; and Promulgating knowledge of
and respect for historic preservation and, more specifically, knowledge of adopted guidelines and
regulartions to insure such preservation.
