HomeMy WebLinkAboutsupplemnt.2004.budget.1/2.centREADING ON DRAFT RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF PITKIN COUNTY, COLORADO APPROVING A SUPPLEMENTAL 2004 BUDGET FOR THE 1/2 CENT TRANSIT SALES AND USE TAX AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY REGULAR MEETENG DATE: July 14, 2004 AGENDA ITEM TITLE: Resolution Approving a Supplemental 2004 Budget for the 1/2 Cent Transit Sales and Use Tax STAFF RESPONSIBLE: Tom Oken DESCRIPTION OF ISSUE: Attached for your review and approval is a resolution which, if approved, would authorize the expenditure of up to $65,000 for one-half of the cost of an efficiency review of RFTA operations if RFTA funds the other half. This resolution reflects the decision made by the Elected Officials Transportation Committee (EOTC) at its June 2, 2004 meeting. RECOMMENDED ACTION: consent agenda. Approve as an informal (one reading) resolution as part of the A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF PITKIN COUNTY, COLORADO, APPROVING A SUPPLEMENTAL 2004 BUDGET FOR THE 1/2 CENT TRANSIT SAI F.S AND USE TAX Resolution # __:2004 RECITALS 1. The Aspen City Council, the Pitldn County Board of County Commissioners and the Town Council of Snowmass Village (the "Parties") have previously identified general elements of their Comprehensive Valley Transportation Plan (the "Plan") which are eligible for funding from the Pitkin County one-half cent transit sales and use tax. 2. By intergovernmental agreement dated September 14, 1993, the Parties agreed: a. to conduct regular public meetings to continue to refine and agree upon proposed projects and transportation elements consistent with or complimentary to the Plan; and b. that all expenditures and projects to be funded from the County-wide one-half cent transit sales and use tax shall be agreed upon by the Parties and evidenced by a resolution adopted by the governing body of each party. 3. At a public meeting held on June 2, 2004, the Parties considered and approved the expenditure of up to $65,000 for one-half of the cost of an efficiency review of RFTA operations. 4. By adoption of this resolution the Board of County Commissioners wishes to ratify the approval given at the June 2nd meeting. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Pitkin County, Colorado, that the following supplemental 2004 one-half cent transit sales and use tax expenditure budget is hereby approved. RFTA Efficiency Study (1/2 of the cost, not to exceed) $65,000 INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED ON JULY 14, 2004.
