This project is a unique opportunity to create a network of integrated clean energy systems across four large-scale essential public services for transportation and electrical operations to achieve energy resiliency and net-zero emissions. The Microgrid Project includes the installation and integration of both new and existing renewable energy generation as well as energy storage in the form of Mega-Watt (MW) batteries across all facilities. Pitkin County has also requested Congressionally Directed Spending Request to U.S. Senator Hickenlooper to fund Phase 1(b) of the project which includes: ●2 MW of battery storage at Pitkin County Public Works and Airport ●200kw of additional solar generation at Pitkin County Public Works We appreciate Senator Bennet’s consideration of this request and look forward to turning one of the most innovative energy resilient systems into reality for a more resilient community and pathway for a cleaner net-zero economy. Sincerely, PITKIN COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS Patti Clapper, Chair
