OF PITKIN COUNTY
August 9, 1974
WHEREAS, the Civic League of Pitkin County has
determined and confirmed by survey of the Pitkin County
Surveyor that Joe Edwards was at the time of his election
and now is residing outside the Commissioner District from
which he was elected and,
WHEREAS, non-residence within the required district
casts serious doubt upon the validity and legality of actions
taken by Joe Edwards as County Commissioner,
AND, WHEREAS, the public interest requires that all
Commissioners be duly an~ properly qualified to serve from
their respective CommisSar D~stricts,
THEREFORE BEfiT RESOLVED that copy of this Resolution
be forwarded to Joe Edwards and also to the District Attorney
of the Ninth Judicial District and that Joe Edwards either
resign or the District Attorney be requested to institute
proceedings to determine whether he holds office illegally.
