BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
RESOLUTION #74-106
STEWARDSHIP AWARDS
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Pitkin County is
desirous of acknowledging the outstanding generosity of certain
citizens of Pitkin County to the people of Pitkin County; and
WHEREAS, because of these generosities certain beautifica-
tion, improvements and developments in the County have been
made possible, and the foundation has been laid for future
planning; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Pitkin County is
desirous of acknowledging these generosities in a tangible
manner and as a part of the rededication ceremonies at the
County Courthouse on December 14, 1974;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners
of Pitkin County, Colorado, that:
1. The Aspen Institute for Humanistic Studies be presented
a Stewardship Award from Pitkin County for its gift
of a mile of trail easements along the Roaring Fork
River to the people of Pitkin County;
2. The Aspen Valley Improvement Association be presented a
Stewardship Award from Pitkin County for its under-
writing of the Colorado State University Environmental
Resources Analysis for Pitkin County to the people of
Pitkin County;
3. Herbert and Joella Bayer be presented a Stewardship
Award for their gift of land on Smuggler Mountain to
the people of Pitkin County;
4. Frederic and Fabienne Benedict be presented a Stewardship
Award for their gift of land for trail easements east
of Aspen and along Hunter Creek to the people of Pitkin
County;

5. James and Alberta Moore be presented a Stewardship
Award for their gift of land near the High School
and Iselin Park to the people of Pitkin County; and
6. Henry and Marjorie Stein be presented a Stewardship
Award for their gift of land for the "Stein Bridge
and Trail" and for the deed for McLain Flats Road
additional right-of-way to the people of Pitkin County.
