BOARD OF PITKIN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
PITKIN COUNTY, COLORADO

WHEREAS, this Board has encouraged the formation of
neighborhood area caucuses for specific logical neighborhoods
or areas of the County, the same to be comprises of citizens
of such areas or neighborhoods, to consider and make recommen-
dations to this Board as to the proper administration of
County government insofar as the same affects such neighbor-
hoods and areas, and
WHEREAS, such encouragement on the part of this Board
has been successful inasmuch as there are some 5 neigh-
borhood or areas caucuses functioning on the date of this
resolution, and
WHEREAS, said caucuses, as created, have shown and
demonstrated an ability to act as effective coordinating
agencies between the citizens of those neighborhoods and
areas and County government, and
WHEREAS, certain of the said caucuses have requested
funding to cover out-of-pocket expenses for such things as
mailing of notices, telephone expenses for polling, etc., and
WHEREAS, this Board is willing to provide minimal
funding on a prior approval basis to reimburse the respective
caucuses for the valuable services which they are performing;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
1. That this Board give serious consideration to
requests made by neighborhood or area caucuses groups for
funding to cover out-of-pocket expenses for services performed
on behalf of the County upon the condition that before the
expenditure of any funds for which reimbursement is sought,
this Board shall consider and approve the same.
2. That any requests for funds made by neighborhood
or area caucuses shall clearly set forth the proposed utiliza-
tion of the funds requested by it and the benefits to be
derived from such funding by this Board or the County.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution
be directed to each of the neighborhood or area caucuses in
Pitkin County which have been formed, requesting information
of the name and address of the authorized agent of each
caucus to solicit funding from the County, and generally in
informing each caucus as to the avaiiability thereof.
