BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
RESOLUTION 75 _~a,~
WHEREAS, Mr. Ralph Melville has made application for Special
Review approval of the Mt. Chalet Lodge and a proposed extension to the Mt.
Chalet at West Village, Snowmass, and
WHEREAS, Mr. Melville has received approval from the Pitkin
County Board of Adjustment to expand the Mt. Chalet as a non-conforming use,
such expansion not entailing significant additional impacts, and
WHEREAS, the Pitkin County Planning and Zoning Commission has
unanimously recommended approval of said Special Review application according
to the review criteria of the Pitkin County Zoning Code, and
WHEREAS, the Pitkin County Co~nissioners have referred to the
Planning and Zoning Commission for consideration, a proposal to rezone the
West Village area at Snowmass Resort to accommodate existing non-conforming
uses in the West Village area, and
WHEREAS, the Mt. Chalet Lodge is appropriately located within an
existing tourist density area and said extension of the Lodge represents min-
imal significant impact in the West Village area, and the additional conference
area would compliment the winter and summer tourist business, and
WHEREAS, the additional employee quarters is consistent with the
established needs of Pitkin County for permanent housing in close proximity to
employment areas,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Pitkin County Commissioners
hereby approve the Special Review application of Mt. Chalet Lodge for additional
conference rooms and employee quarters.
