RESOLUTION #75-~O
A RESOLUTION APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL SUMS OF MONEY TO
DEFRAY EXPENSES IN EXCESS OF AMOUNTS BUDGETED FORT HE
COUNTY OF PITKIN, COLORADO.
WHEREAS, the County Commissioners have embarked on an extensive
trail acquisition and development program, and
WHEREAS, the County Courthouse roof is in need of in~uediate repair,
and
WHEREAS, the Planning Department which has been jointly funded by
the City of Aspen and the County became a separate agency as of July 1, 1975,
and
WHEREAS, a downvalley bus is needed, and
WHEREAS, the cost of an addition to the solid waste center exceeded
budget, and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. John Denver, through the Aspen Valley Medical
Foundation, generously donated $35,000 for the purpose of acquiring necessary
pediatric and newborn nursery equipment and Mr. and Mrs. John Denver requested
that these funds be expended for that purpose immediately, and
WHEREAS, the budget for public works has an unencumbered balance of
$68,671 that can be transferred to the Road and Bridge Fund - Trails where it
is needed, and
WHEREAS, there is an unencumbered $31,726 in the County Contingency
Fund that can be transferred to the General Fund; Building Maintenance $6,926,
Planning $8,800, Transportation $10,000 and Solid Waste Treatment Center $6,000
where it is needed, and
WHEREAS, the Solid Wast~Treatment Center will be funded twenty-five
(25) per cent by the State, $1,500 is hereby recognized as additional general
fund revenues, and
WHEREAS, the funds donated of $35,000 will be recognized as revenues
to the Hospital Fund,
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners
of the County of Pitkin:
That the 1975 appropriation for the general fund is hereby increased
frc~ $1,582,873 to $1,614,599, that the 1975 appropriation for the Road and
Bridge Fund is hereby increased from $850,894 to $919,565, and the estimated
revenues from Special District Grant - Sanitation - is increased by $1,500;
That the 1975 appropriation for Hospital Capital Expenditures is
hereby increased from $120,000 to $155,000;
That the sum of $68,671 is hereby transferred from the County Public
Works Fund to the Road and Bridge Fund - Trails for the aforementioned purpose
and that the sum of $31,726 is hereby transferred from the County Contingency
Fund to the General Fund for the aforementioned purpose.
