BOARD OF COUNTy COMMISSIONERS OF
PITKIN COUNTY, COLORADO

(Elizabeth Borstner Callahan Property)
WHEREAS, this Board has determined that it is neces-
sary that the County of Pitkin, State of Colorado, acquire
from Elizabeth Borstner Callahan, the fee simple owner thereof,
the following described real property situate adjacent to and
northerly of the County Courthouse administrative property:
Lots A, B, K, L, M, N, O and P, Block 92,
CITY AND TOWNSITE OF ASPEN; and Lots 1, 2,
3, 4, 13, 14 and 15, Block 19, EAST ASPEN
ADDITIONAL TOWNSITE ENTRY; and all that
portion of the Southwest quarter of the South-
west quarter of Section 7, Township 10 South,
Range 84 West of the 6th Principal Meridian
described in deeds to David R. C. Brown,
recorded May 4, 1893 in Book 115 at Page
229, and to Elizabeth Borstner Callahan,
recorded August 23, 1961 in Book 195 at Page
79, lying Northerly of said Lots 1, 2, 3,
4, Block 19 and lying Westerly of the Northerly
prolongation of the Easterly line of said
Lot 4; together with that portion of the
alley in said Blocks 19 and 92 lying Westerly
of the Northerly extension of the East line
of said Lot 13,
and
WHEREAS, that acquisition is necessary in order to
provide for development of the Pitkin County Courthouse
property in an attractive and well-groomed fashion, and
to provide for a coordinated trails system integrating the
general area behind the Pitkin County Courthouse, and
WHEREAS, the County Surveyor and County Engineer
have been able to negotiate with the owner thereof the acqui-
sition of said property at a price of FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS
($500.00) cash;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the County
Attorney acquire, on behalf of the County, the above des-
cribed real property for a purchase price of FIVE HUNDRED
DOLLARS ($500.00) cash, payable at such time as the owners
thereof are able to convey unencumbered merchantable title
thereto.
