BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
RESOLUTION ~75- ]3
FIRST ANNUAL ARTS FESTIVAL
WHEREAS, it has been proposed by the Aspen Foundation for the Arts
that there be a First Annual Arts Festival held in Aspen ; and
WHEREAS, it is proposed that said First Annual Arts Festival be held
on June 13-15, 1975, at Wagner Park and that thereafter it be an annual
event in the community; and
WHEREAS it is in keeping with the County's goal to facilitate the
conversion to a summer destination resort; and
WHEREAS, the need for helping to fund such an event could not have
been foreseen when the 1975 budget was prepared;
NOW, THEREFORE the BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF PITKIN COUNTY
HEREBY RESOLVE:
1. That the Board of County Commissioners shall endorse the First
Annual Arts Festival proposed by the Aspen Foundation for the Arts and
hereby encourages all residents of Pitkin County to attend;
2. That Wagner Park be reserved for June 12 to June 16, 1975,
including said dates, for the exclusive use of the Arts Festival event and
preparation as deemed appropriate by the committee;
3. That $2,500 be transferred from the contingency fund of the
1975 Pitkin County budget to the general fund for disbursal to the Aspen
Foundation for the Arts for their First Annual Arts Festival.
