HomeMy WebLinkAboutbocc.res.104.1975PITKIN COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Resolution #75-1o4 RE: Rejection of the 1041 Designation of Airport High and Moderate Hazard Zones WHEREAS, a public hearing to consider the designation of airport high and moderate hazard zones was held on November 3, 1975, and WHEREAS, this Board has taken into consideration the Guidelines for Identification and Designation issued by the Colorado Land Use Commission and the intensity of current and foreseeable development pressures, and WHEREAS, Guidelines for Designation and Regulation for specific matters of State interest have not yet been adopted by the Colorado Land Use Commission, but the Board has considered the Land Use Commission's Draft Model Regulations for Areas Around Airports proposed on October, 24, 1975, and WHEREAS, this Board finds, based upon testimony offered at the hearing, that the airport high and moderate hazard zones do not conform to the hazard mapping of the Colorado Land Use Commission's Draft Model Regulations for Areas Around Airports, and WHEREAS, this Board hereby directs the Planning Office within two weeks to prepare new hazard area maps and Guidelines for Administration to conform to the Draft Model Regulations, and WHEREAS, the Board intends to incorporate the same into the proposed Pitkin County Land Use Code and in conjunction with said Code, intends to hold a public hearing at a later date to consider the designation of airport hazard area maps and relevant guidelines for administration. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners that the designation of the airport high and mod- erate hazard zones be and hereby is rejected.
