COUNTY, COLORADO, REZONING A PORTION OF THE COMPASS PROPERTY FROM
PUBLIC (PUB) TO RS-20/PUD

RECITALS
1. COMPASS for Lifelong Learning ("Applicant") has applied to the Board of County Commissioners
of Pitkin County, Colorado ("BOCC") to rezone 151 acres of the COMPASS property above the Salvation
Ditch from Public (PUB) to RS-20/PUD.
2. The property is located at 1 199 Woody Creek Road, and is more specifically described in Exhibit
A.
3. The Pitkin County Planning and Zoning Commission considered the proposed rezoning at a
regularly scheduled meeting on May 3, 2005, and recommended approval by a vote of 3-0.
4. The BOCC considered the proposed rezoning at duly noticed public hearings on first reading on
July 13 and August 10, 2005, and on second reading on August 24 and September 14, 2005.
5. The BOCC finds that the proposed rezoning is consistent with the applicable provisions of the
Pitkin County Land Use Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the BOCC that it hereby rezones 151 acres of the
COMPASS property from Public (PUB) to RS-20/PUD, as shown in Exhibit B.
NOTICE -OF PUBLIC HEARING published in the Aspen Times Weekly on the 31" day of July,
2005.
INTRODUCED AND FIRST READ AT A PUBLIC HEARING on the 10t1i day of August,
2005.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED AFTER SECOND READING AT A PUBLIC HEARING on
the 14°i day of September, 2005.
PUBLISHED AFTER ADOPTION in the Aspen Times Weekly on the% day o4g;ti,
2005.
THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE 30 DAYS AFTER PUBLICATION
FOLLOWING FINAL ADOPTION BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS.
