HomeMy WebLinkAboutbocc.res.014.1976 I PITKIN COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Resolution No. 76-/~ RE: Authorizing the Filing of an Application with the Department of Transportation, United States of America, for a Grant Under the Urban Mass Transportation Act of 1964, as amended. WHEREAS, the Secretary of Transportation is authorized to make grants for mass transportation projects; I WHEREAS, the contract for financial assistance will impose certain obligations upon the applicant, including the provision by it of the local share of the project costs; WHEREAS, it is required by the U.S. Department of Trans- portation in accord with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, that in connection with the filing of an application for assistance under the Urban Mass Transportation Act of 1964, as Amended, the applicant give an assurance that it will comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the U.S. Department of Transportation requirements thereunder; and WHEREAS, it is the goal of the Applicant that minority bus- iness enterprise be utilized to the fullest extent possible in con- nection with this project, and that definitive procedures shall be established and administered to ensure that minority businesses shall I 38 . .. ., ,I ., , -- have the maximum feasible opportunity to compete for contracts when procuring construction contracts, supplies, equipment contracts, or consultant and other services: NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Pitkin County, Colorado, 1. That Dwight K. Shellman, Jr., Chairman, is authorized to execute and file an application on behe1f of Pitkin County, Colorado, with the U.S. Department of Trans- portation, to aid in the financing of the Pitkin County Transportation Alternatives Study in the form o attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit "A". .. 2. That the said Dwight K. Shellman, Jr. is authorized to execute and file with such application an assurance or any other document required by the U.S. Department of "f Transportation effectuating the purposes of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. 3. That George Ochs, County Engineer of Pitkin County, Colorado, is authorized to furnish such additional in- formation as the U.S. Department of Transportation may require in connection with the application or the project. 39 n , , i ! ! Resolution No. 76-/~ -- RE: Adoption of Pitkin County Land Use Code WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Pitkin County initiated the proposed Pitkin County Land Use Code on November 3, 1975, and WHEREAS, the proposed Code is a recodification of the Pitkin County Zoning Resolution and Subdivision Regulations and incorporates certain other land use regulations including guidelines for adminis- tration of matters of State interest designated by the Board on December WHEREAS, the Board referred the proposed Code to the Pitkin U.., :.... ' ;- , , , I j, 1, 1975, and February 4, 1976, and County Planning and Zoning Commission on November 12, 1975, for their review and comment, and WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission reviewed the proposed Code on December 3 and December 10, 1975, and certified their comments II I and recommendations thereto to the Board in Planning and Zoning Commission Resolution 32-75, and WHEREAS, after public notice given pursuant to law, the Board of County Commissioners held a public hearing to consider comments on the Code on February 2, 1976, at 2:30 p.m. in the District Courtroom of the County Courthouse, and WHEREAS, the Board has reviewed all the evidence, testimony, and ~ , !
