Pitkin County started discussions with private citizens and the City of Aspen ("C~ty") in the late 1990' s for the purpose of creating a new animal shelter. The City was the lead agency for the development and approval process for the shelter. 2. Pitkin County and the City agreed to donate a total of approximately one (1.0) acr~ in the vicinity of the Pitkin County Public Works Facility, adjacent to the City Snow Storage property for the shelter. 3. Upon completion of the preliminary designs done in 2003 and 2004, the parcel sizes were established and it was determined that a small parcel of the Pitkin County Airport property was needed for the access drive. 4. To create the Animal Shelter property, Pitkin County and the City need to complete a land exchange shown on the attached maps as: Parcel #1, part ofthe City of Aspen Snow Storage parcel to Pitkin County Airport PaJ.'Fel #2, part of the Pitkin County Airport Parcel 'D' to the City of Aspen Snow Stotrage; Parcel #3, a part of the City of Aspen Snow Storage to the City of Aspen and Pitkin C01ll1ty to create the animal shelter parcel Parcel #4, a part of the Pitkin County Public Works parcel to the City of Aspen and Pitkin County to create the animal shelter parcel Plll]cel # 5 resulting Animal Shelter Parcel NOW THEREFORE IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED, that the Board of County Commissioners of Pitkin County, Colorado authorizes the land exchange of the certain poI(tions of the parcels listed above in order to create the Pitkin County Animal Shelter P~el' known as the Subdivision Exemption Plat of the Pitkin County.
