Agreements never finalized. As per Ellen Anderson, Emergency Management
Coordinator "Pitkin County completed planning phase and presented findings to
homeowners. Pitkin County was reimbursed by grants for planning phase. However,
homeowners never acted on implementation phase. Project terminated for lack of action
by homeowners."

APPROVING MODIFICATION TO
ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT "M02", Number 1422CAA030010
WITH THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR
BUREAU OF LAND MANAGMENT
RESOLUTION No.llf 2006
1. The United States Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management, and Colorado
State Office BLM wishes to assist Pitkin County (County) in protection from catastrophic wildland
fires.
2. To this end, in 2004, BLM granted Pitkin County funding to facilitate the creation of a County-
wide fire plan.
3. The basis for this agreement is Public Law 106-291, Title IV - Wildland Fire Emergency
Appropriation, which states in part, "The Secretary of the Interior may enter into procurement
contracts, grants, or cooperative agreements, for hazardous fuels reduction activities, on Federal
land, or on adjacent non-Federal land for activities that benefit resources on Federal land..."
4. The objective tolthis Assistance Agreement Number 1422CAA030010 is to help fund the
preparation of a wildland fire management plan for the County, which will include the identification
and prioritization of fire management zones (FMZs) that will cross jurisdictions and ownerships.
5. The terms of this Assistance Agreement Number 1422CAA30010 is provide for the BLML to
contribute $10,000.00 and Pitkin County to contribute $1,111.00.
6. The Pitkin County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) adopted Assistance Agreement
Number 1422CAA30010 on second reading on January 28,2004.
7. The purpose of this Resolution is to change the Assistance Representative to

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Pitkin County,
Colorado, to adopt this "M02", Modification to Assistance Agreement Number 1422CAA30010 with
the United States Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management.
