HomeMy WebLinkAboutpitkin.planning.246734401001ADMINISTRATIVE DETERMINATION OF THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR OF PITKIN COUNTY, COLORADO, APPROVING A TEMPORARY COMMERCIAL USElSPECIAL EVENT PERMIT FOR THE ROARING FOLK CONSERVANCY TO HOLD THE RIVER RENDEZVOUS FUND RAISER ON JULY 18, 2007 Determination No1~2007 RECITALS Pursuant to Subsection 4-30-50(i) of the 2p06 Pitkin County Land Use Code, the Community Development Director of Pitkin County, Colo~ado ("Director") may approve a Temporary Commercial Use/Special Event Permit for commercial activ ties or special events. Roaring Fork Conservancy (hereafter, the "A~plicant") has applied to the Director for approval of a Temporary Commercial Use/Special Event Pe~tnit to conduct the River Rendezvous on July 18, 2007. The event will be held at the Chaparral barn at,291 Chaparral Drive in Woody Creek. The Event will be held from S:OOpm until 11:OOpm. There will bie 400 participants including staff and volunteers. The application was referred to the Sherrif~'s Office, Emergency Manager, Aspen Fire Protection District, Woody Creek Caucus, and Environrrxlental Health Department. All entities were in support of the proposal with few conditions. A liquor li~~ense has been obtained for the event. Proof of liability insurance has been provided. The Director finds that, to the extent applhcable, the application complies with the standards in Subsection 4-30-50(i) of the 2006 Land Use Coode. THE DIRECTOR HEREBY APPROVES ikhe Temporary Commercial Use/Special Event Permit for the Roaring Fork Conservancy River Rendezvous, subject to Applicant's compliance with each of the following conditions: 1. The Applicant shall adhere to all material representations made in, or in connection with, the application. 2. The Applicant shall contact the County Electrical Inspector to determine if an Electrical Permit is required for the tent and shall secure an Electrical Permit prior to the event, if required. 3. Applicant shall have attendants directing participants to an approved parking area, which shall be contained on site. No parking shall be allowed on any County Roads. The Applicant shall contact a towing company prior to the event and arrange for their services on an as-needed basis. 4. The Applicant shall secure Tipsy Taxi vouchd,rs from the Emergency Manager prior to the event. 5. 16' of EMS access shall be maintained at all tames to the event. 6. The Applicant shall contact the Environmental Health Department and comply with any requirements for food preparation, trash disposal, and restrgom facilities. 7. Prior to the event, the Applicant shall provide County Risk Management (to the attention of Kris Jewkes) with an adequate Certificate of Insurance which demonstrates that the Applicant has secured General Liability Insurance with minimum limits of $1,000,000 per Occurrence and $2,000,000 General Aggregate. The Conservancy sends out written invitations to all of its members based upon its donor list. Invitations go out approximately 30 days ooooo~ in advance of the event. If so, describe location, size, purpose, and if they will be heated/air conditioned: One (1) 80 foot by 120 foot tent will b~ erected immediately adjacent to the barn located on the property. The tent will be used''for seating for dinner and the live auction and for dancing after dinner. The tent will not be heated or air conditioned. Temporary structures shall conform t any and all applicable building codes and other County regulations. The applicant sh ll obtain any required building permits from the County Building Department. Please provide the following information as it applies to your event. Note that some questions will not be applicable, or appropriate, given the nature and/or scale of your event.
