PERMIT TO AMEND THE 1041 HAZARD REVIEW FOR THE RIO GRANDE TRAIL
AMENDING RESOLUTION #164-2000

RECITALS
1. Pitkin County Open Space and Trails("Applicant"),has applied to Board of County
Commissioners, (`BOCC"), for a Minor Amendment to a Development Permit,pursuant to
Section 3-200-080 of the Pitkin County Land Use Code("Code"),to allow an asphalt
surface on the Rio Grande Interim Trail between Gerbaz Way and the Pitkin Iron property.
2. The property is zoned AFR-10 and RS-30 PUD.
3. The property is referred to as the Denver and Rio-Grande right-of-way.
4. The property received 1041 Hazard Review approval from the Hearing Officer on May
23, 2000, pursuant to Determination No. 15-2000 (Reception No. 444015). A 1041 site
plan was recorded in Book 53 at page 73.
5. The Board of County Commissioners find that the request is consistent with the
requirements of the Land Use Code.
APPROVED by the Director, subject to the following conditions:
1. The Applicant shall comply with provisions of the Hearing Officer Determination No.15-
2000 approved May 23, 2000(Reception No. 444015),unless otherwise replaced or
amended by the conditions of this approval.
2. Condition No. 3 of the Hearing Officer Determination No. 15-2000 (Reception No.
444015) shall be amended to read: The trail surface shall be limited to soft natural
materials approved by the Pitkin County Engineer, except on the portion of the trail that
extends from Old Snowmass to the Lower Woody Creek Bridge and the portion of the trail
that extends from Gerbaz Way(M.P. 391.6) and the Pitkin Iron property (M.P. 393.2),
where an 8 foot wide asphalt surface with a 4 foot soft surface shoulder shall be permitted.
