CONDITIONS OF DEMOLITION
Please review and check the items that will apply to this demolition.
^ Jobsite shall be maintained in a safe manner with adequate barricades and signage to
protect the general public. Excavations shall be properly protected.
^ All utilities shall be disconnected per requirements of individual utility companies.
Contact City of Aspen Water, City of Aspen Electric or Holy Cross Energy, KN
Energy, cable TV, and U.S. West prior to commencing demolition.
^ All demolition equipment, dumpsters, and trucks must remain on private property at
all times. An Encroachment License from the City Engineering Department is
required for occupancy of a public right-of-way.
^ Vehicles are not allowed to track mud or debris on public streets.
^ All fugitive or loose dust and debris must be controlled and not allowed to blow on
public streets or adjacent properties.
^ Complete the Environmental Health asbestos checklist and contact the Aspen/Pitkin
County Environmental Health Department at 920-5070 to see'f an asbestos tesf is
required.
^ The haul route of demolition materials shall be the most direct route to Highway 82.
Follow Highway 82 out of town.
^ Haul trucks shall be covered with tarps orother protective coverings to prevent
material from falling off or blowing out of trucks.
^ Please call Miles Stotts at 920-5215 or 923=3487 to coordinate recycle material which
can be sepazated and hauled to the Pitkin County Landfill as part of our resource
recovery program.
^ Removal of any trees or bushes from a city site must have priorapproval from the
City of Aspen Pazks Departrnent (920-5120). cit
^ Contact the Historic Preservation Officer at 920-5090 regarding demolition of any
garages orsheds.

Highway 82, Pitkin C'aul7ty. We'rn finally back now from a six rnnnth IValirnRal
Geographic assignment in the ncxrthern Rockies. The inspection iar fine with me
and. we will be happy to have you make a visit.
You. mentioned the reasrrn far the inspection was a call frorn a farmer renter on the
graperty, Gwen Bergman.
I reapyy feel this was an unfair complaint an her part curly to get revenge, for
sornetliing that shern fact caused in the begutning.
After leaving the property with aver $200.00 in unpaid bills and over X800.00 in
damages to Ehe house, she otter throe mantlts asked her bank to call me for a gaol
credit reference to get a mortgage. When ]offered to give a'gaod credit reference
only if alto p~ud the outstanding bills, she then called you for revenge.
Just so you knew, 1°m only renting the u.nitvc on the property that were already being
rented when I purchased the property. '1'hern have been na new structures built ort
the property since I. have owned it, or in #act for many years before tha#. The
original house has bc~ occupied for c7ver 50 years and the cabinEor now 24 years. I
have receipts for aver $40,000 in general improvements'. to the routs to ixpgrade the
appearance, c!e<zniiness and safety for the tenants. Every space has fire extinguishers
and :smoke alarms.
I have a really wonderful group cef Iara! empltyyees nanfing now, who are very
involved with the community, and have enjoyed the open space of living out there
far their creativity and peace of anind.
Francis Piache resides in the cabin and is an architect.

artist in the studio, he resides in town. Iie is a retired employee of the Sheriffs
department.
]t is unfortunate that Gwen ever moved to my pmperky Freon Ivdamf, to run away
frrnn her ex-fiance, as she tald us. Plot only has she caused prolalems tc, me, bat in
the past she has unfairly accused the other tenants of stealing her personal
belongings, °'keying" her corvette, amongst other unpleasant, unhappy
canfi^isntatinns that were utttteceasary.
1 hops th~it everything is alrj~t ht~e because we really dank want to jeopardize our
tenants' iiving situations in t c community of Aspen. If you see repairs that have
.escaped as ov,>r the years, I will b~ happy to take care of them immediately, Also so
that you know, it is definitely understood that fhc rental situation will have to be re-
evaluated when I eventually build my house nn this property.
