Concerning County Home Rule Commission
WHEREAS, the Clerk and Recorder has certified that she has received
and filed petitions calling for establishment of a Home Rule Charter Commission,
pursuant to 30-11-502(1) C.R.S. 1973; and
WHEREAS, the Clerk and Recorder has certified that the petitions con-
tain a sufficient number of valid signatures, as determined by 30-11-502(1)
C.R.S. 1973.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:
1) That an election shall be held at the next general election, Nov-
ember 2, 1976, for the purpose of determining whether or not a
Charter Commission shall be elected and for electing the requisite
number of Charter Commission members.
2) That notice of this election be published at least sixty days prior
to the election.
3) That for purposes of the election, the County be divided into three
compact districts which shall be comprised of the following previously
determined, and current, election precincts, as described by the
precinct maps and legal descriptions filed in the Pitkin County Clerk
and Recorder's office:
a) District One - Precincts 1, 2 and 7
b) District Two - Precincts 3, 4 and 5
c) District Three - Precincts 6, 8, 9, 10 and 11

Home A special meeting was convened for the purpose of the designation of districts
Rule
Charter for the Home Rule Commission. Julie Hane, the County Clerk and Recorder reported
that sufficient petition signatures had been filed in her office, and a notice of
election for the Home Rule Charter must be published at least sixty days prior to
the election, which must include the description of the three Charter Districts.
The Commissioners unanimously approved the signing of the resolution.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
